Lunch & Learn: Fruit, not Fruits

Fruit, Not Fruits
š Galatians 5:22ā23āBut the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.ā
Word: Karpos (καĻĻĻĻ)Ā ā fruit, produce, result.
Thought:Ā Paul says fruit, singular. He isn't presenting a spiritual personality test where we choose the qualities that suit us. Together, these characteristics describe the kind of life the Spirit produces as Christ forms His people.
Go Deeper:Ā Read Matthew 7:16ā20, John 15:1ā8 and Galatians 5:16ā25. Trace the Bible's picture of roots, source and fruit.
Consider:Ā Which aspect of the Spirit's fruit is least visible in me?
Challenge:Ā Don't merely try harder to produce that quality. Ask the Spirit to expose what is preventing its growth.
